After experiencing the wonderful hospitality of the Sisters at Mary MacKillop Place overnight, the team were given a beautiful and inspiring send off this morning. Chris and Carolyn set off over the harbour bridge which gave us a great view of the city and water......persevered through a Sydney downpour which fortunately only lasted about an hour.....and finally made it to our first meeting point with our support team, where drinks, snacks and a cheer greeted us. Tim also joined us as a rider and the three of us set off again......not a bad ride.....a few nice hills, another pit stop and some great scenery.
Finally hit Wollongong and made a presentation to the Yr 11 boys of Edmund Rice College, where we given an enthusiastic welcome (some more than others - hey Chels??).
Fantastic hospitality given us by Wollongong Church of Christ.....late lunches, showers, accommodation, dinner, car ferrying....and a lot of care......so appreciated after a long, exciting and tiring day.
Chilling out now as a team over raisin toast and music courtesy of Eric Bibb .... and I am sure we will all sleep well very soon.
Nowra here we come tomorrow - there are rumours of a storm ...... but who listens to rumours?!
