Descending from great heights......

Today we proved the old adage - that what goes up must come down! After 567km (yes, Carolyn does spend an awful lot of time counting!) of a lot of hills over the past 8 days, Carolyn looked out over the hill leading down into Lakes Entrance today and knew that the hill section was finally over......Thank God!!

The team woke early this morning in Orbost to another blue and crisp day, packed up to be out of the school hall before the students started arriving and headed down the main street for the first bought breakfast of the Tour.

Then it was back on the road. We had been warned of various hills between Orbost and Lakes Entrance but they didn't seem very significant in comparison to those of past days. What did rate, was the head wind that lasted most of the trip interspersed with magpie attacks. PJ and Jo were surprised to be serenaded by a chorus of frogs at the first pit stop, but these were soon silenced by Carolyn's arrival and her everpresent singing of the chorus "I'm Not For Sale"........ There is no truth to the rumour that Chris and Ben (our fabulous musicians who composed our Freedom Theme Song) are taking out an injunction to stop Carolyn singing their song......we have no such guarantee as yet that the Not For Sale organisation won't be taking similar steps.....

Jo and PJ were ever so pleased that Carolyn actually arrived at the destination of Lakes Entrance before 12 meaning that for the first time on the Tour we didn't have to share the last sausage roll of the bakery but instead had a full plethora of choice!!!

We were again welcomed with open arms and multiple plates of food by our hosts for the night.....Huge thanks to "Mrs Simpson" (sorry marge!) who had organised everything so well for us, that we were all soon showered, rested and well fed and ready for our evening presentation at St Brendan's Church.

Today we were also joined by Simon (who will ride), Bindy and little Alison - who will stay with us until Melbourne. In fact from here on end, our numbers will grow each day.....711 km down and 327 to go
